A top-scoring scholar, having qualified as a medical doctor with his postgraduation in healthcare management from highly renowned institutions, he is also an MBA in Financial Management and a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India. His academic interests include ongoing research, training and publications on Health Financing (particularly Health Insurance) and Health Policy.
Dr. Nagpal has been involved as a resource person/ expert for the World Health Organization and for the Indian and Maldivian Ministries of Health in the areas of Health Insurance, Health Costing and National Health Accounts. He has also been a resource person/ expert on health insurance, health financing and public finance for various Government, non-Government and International Organizations, and to management institutions, both within India and internationally, and has addressed several national and international conferences, workshops and summits on his areas of interest. He has been closely associated with the working of several government, regulatory and industry committees and working groups in the realm of Health Insurance. He has authored various publications on his areas of interest which have been published in highly recognized periodicals, books and journals.
