G N Agarwal is a Post Graduate in Mathematics fromAgra University  and a Fellow Member of Institute of Actuaries of India.

He has around 37 years experience in Life Insurance Industry mostly with Life Insurance Corporation of India from where he retired as Executive Director (Actuarial). As Head of Actuarial Department of LIC he was responsible for Product Development & Pricing, Asset Liability Valuation, Financial Condition and other Statutory Reporting, Reinsurance and Underwriting Policy of the Corporation. He was also responsible for entire actuarial support for its Overseas Branches ans Subsidiaries.

Presently he is Chief Actuary & Appointed Actuary for Future Generali Life Insurance Company Limited.

He is the President of Institute of Actuaries of India  since March 2007. Prior to that he was Vice President for four years. He has also served as Managing Editor and Chief Editor of Actuarial Magazine "The Actuary India".

He is specialized in Actuarial and Employee Retirement Benefits.  He has presented several papers in a number of conferences on Pension & Employee Retirement benefits and Social Security matters. He also completed the Annuitant lives mortality LIC a (1996-98) which was presented in 2nd Global Conference of Actuaries atNew Delhi  in the year 2000.
