KS Rao 

KS Rao is Head – Investor Education and Distribution Development at Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company - the investment manager of Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, which is a joint venture between the Aditya Birla Group and Sun Life Financial Services of Canada, and India's fourth largest fund house.

Over the course of his two decades in the Mutual Fund Industry, Rao has worked across disciplines including sales and distribution, marketing, product, strategy and business development. His extensive experience of operating in major geographies in India - having also worked with renowned global consultancy Boston Consulting Group in restructuring India’s oldest Asset Management Company, UTI – saw him develop unique advantages in understanding the business environment of Indian Mutual Fund Industry. Part of Team Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company for the last 6 years, Rao in his previous role was Zonal Head – South, leading retail sales and distribution across the region. He was recognized as a leader, manager and team player, with a proven track record of establishing the retail sales channel for South and significantly scaling-up and driving channel sales.

Currently as Head – Investor Education and Distribution Development, Rao leads the organization’s efforts towards investor education, distribution development and deepening presence across B-15 markets. An alumni of IIM-Calcutta, Rao is an MBA Finance, CAIIB with a double PGD in Portfolio Management and International Business.
