Ms. Rani Singh Nair is a career civil servant and belongs to Indian Revenue Service. Prior to joining PFRDA, she was Commissioner of Income Tax. In the Ministry of Finance, she has worked in the sphere of financial regulation. Currently, she is involved with development and regulation of pension sector in India . 

She is an Msc. in Fiscal Studies from University of Bath U.K.  The Commonwealth Secretariat had invited her as an Expert for Developing Strategies for Multi sector Project Planning and Implementation by Government, NGOs and Private Sector. She has been invited by OECD for Seminar on Vat Development and E Commerce.

Apart from tax policy and administration, experience includes expenditure management through appraisal of government initiatives in social sector, evaluation of investment decisions and capital and financial re structuring of public sector enterprises. She has also been involved in management of large databases, online tax accounting systems etc.
