Sibaranjan Patnaik  is a veteran of the Insurance Industry and his career is a testimony and a reflection of the growth and spread of the insurance sector in India.  Post completing his Masters in Physics and after a short stint in teaching and research, Mr. Patnaik cleared the prestigious LIC direct recruit  entrance examination and joined  as AAO at Chennai. In his association of 11 years with LIC ,Siba (as he is popularly known )  ,he held various positions in Sales ,IT and Marketing .

After an successful and illustrations career at LIC, Mr. Patnaik chose to harness his expertise and further contribute to the growth of the sector, by joining HDFC Standard Life as Head of East Zone ,during the initial days of privatization of the sector in 2001. He spearheaded the establishment of the Organization in the East Zone and was instrumental in ensuring that international best practices were rolled out and HDFC Standard Life becoming one of the trusted Private Life Insurers.

Continuing his journey, Mr. Patnaik joined Max New York Life, as Zonal Vice President in 2004. With his zeal for learning and disseminating the right knowledge and skills for furtherance of the insurance profession, he supported the growth of the Agency Channel and laid the foundation of a robust Agency Channel for Max New York Life in the East Zone. Under his leadership the East Zone saw unprecedented growth, becoming the fastest growing and largest Zone. This contribution by the Zone led to various recognitions like “The India Challenge Cup and Best Zone of the Year”. His dedication and performance got him a promotion in the year 2008, as Senior Vice President and National Head of Group Business in the Corporate Office in Gurgaon.

In the year 2009, Max Group forayed into Health Insurance, with British United Provident Association (BUPA). When Max Bupa was formed ,Siba was handpicked to establish the Indirect Channels – Agency and Third Party Distribution. Joining as a founder member he has successfully build the Indirect Channels – Agency and Third Party Distribution. He is well regarded for his diligence and his process oriented approach to work, as well as his accessibility and his unassuming demeanor.  Presently the Agency Channel in Max Bupa is considered to be one of most productive Agency team in the Industry and is the Flagship Channel of Distribution for the Company.
